650 Hours
Books and native content are becoming more rewarding. I’m spending less time measuring comprehension and more time finding things that hold my attention.
600 Hours
Spanish feels faster and more immediate, crosstalk has become genuinely conversational, and native content still reveals how far I have to go.
550 Hours
Advanced learner content and some native material is becoming much more accessible even though comprehension is frequently still uneven.
500 Hours
Speaking Spanish in Spain was successful but foggy. Comprehension gains keep stacking from steady input but lots of gaps remain.
450 Hours
Notable but quieter progress compared to months ago with a better sense for the input level that will get me to the next level.
400 Hours
Progress feels increasingly uneven on the surface but increasingly stable underneath.
350 Hours
A lot has happened since 300 hours. There’s still a long way to go but also some notable progress.
300 Hours
At 300 hours, Spanish increasingly feels less like something I decode and more like something I experience.
250 Hours
At 250 hours, progress feels quieter. I can follow more long form Spanish, tolerate ambiguity better, and trust repeated exposure more, even if vocabulary gaps and tricky verbs still get in the way.
